We are pleased to advise, that yday 4th of September 2014, the Master and Crew of the MT Astro Chloe ( Greek flag sdwt 318440 m/t Captain’s name Andreas Tselios) ) , after receiving instructions from the Italian Rescue Coordination Center, rescued 160 multinational refugees ( Syria , Libya ,Pakistan etc) who were on board a small fishing vessel, in the middle of the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, north of Libya.
Among the refugees were 34 children including a 6 month old baby and 3 pregnant women.
The vessel reports that all the refugees are in good condition.
The vessel is now proceeding to south Sicily, probably Pozzalo, to disembark the refugees to the care of the local Italian authorities.

An update on the Astro Chloe refugee rescue.
The refugees were of the following nationalities:
– SYRIAN 96
– BANGLADESH 20
– PALESTINE 20
– SUDANESE 12
– IRAQUI 6
– EGYPTIAN 2
– LIBYAN 1
– YEMEN 3
Among them there were 3 pregnant women and 39 children from 6 months to 6-7 years old.
