cardinal sin. more than a dozen allegations of child sexual abuse by australian catholic cardinal george pell between 1961 and 1995 are currently under investigation by australian police. pell has served as archbishop of melbourne and sydney and is currently one of the most powerful people in the vatican in his role as prefect of vatican finances.
cardinal pell has vehemently denied all allegations.
